For the second time this season, Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden scored in single digits in back-to-back games. This is after the former NBA MVP logged six points in both of LA’s last two games, including a 1-of-7 outing in Tuesday’s loss to the Sacramento Kings.
At this point, it’s safe to say that Harden, who is currently shooting 31.8 percent from the field and 24.0 percent from beyond the arc in his last five games, is in the midst of yet another brutal slump.
Los Angeles Clippers News: Paul George Reacts to James Harden’s Slump
One of the guys who has been carrying the load for the Clippers of late is Paul George. The nine-time All-Star is coming off a 41-point explosion on Sunday as he willed LA to a much-needed victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
George was recently asked to comment on Harden’s recent struggles, which prompted a brutally honest remark from PG:
“I’m not a coach,” George said while shaking his head, via Sam Amick of The Athletic. “I’m not the coach. Next question.”
There seems to be some frustration brewing within the Clippers, which comes at a terrible time. LA is in a tight battle for positioning in the West as they currently hold a two-game advantage over the Phoenix Suns for the No. 4 seed in the conference.
The Clippers have to get it together soon if they’re serious about chasing a championship in what could be the final run for their Kawhi Leonard, George, and Harden-led Big 3.
