The Los Angeles Clippers going up against a Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks team is one of the few upcoming match-ups that will have everyone talking about it. But before the two teams face off, Ty Lue has a strong message in store for the Mavs.

But before Lue issued his message, the Clippers met the Phoenix Suns and lost to them with a score of 124-108. Devin Booker was in his zone when the All-Star shooting guard went off for 37 points on 54 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent from beyond the perimeter. Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant added 26 and 24 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Jusuf Nurkic controlled the boards by grabbing 19 rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Clippers played without their All-Star quartet of James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook due to injuries. In their absence, Bones Hyland stepped up and dropped 37 points and nine assists. Brandon Boston Jr. added 23 points and seven rebounds to lead Los Angeles’ reserve unit against Phoenix.

Even with the win, the Suns are still projected to participate in the Play-In Tournament due to the seventh seed they hold. The Clippers, on the other hand, are already assured of a playoff spot and are expected to face the Mavericks in the first round.

After the game, Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue spoke to reporters and dropped a message to their upcoming opponents. In a video shared by Law Murray on X:

Ty Lue was asked when does his playoff prep start now that the playoff matchup is set between Clippers and Mavericks:

“I’ve already started,” Ohm Youngmisuk shared in a different tweet.

The Clippers have the advantage over Dallas as the former has won two out of their games during the regular season. The thing is, their last match occurred in December of 2023, a period when both teams played differently.

Now, the Mavericks have a refreshed lineup after the trade deadline and Doncic is playing like an MVP. The Clippers, meanwhile, are burdened with injuries to their roster. It remains to be seen whether Lue’s message will be realized in the first round, or it’ll be all talk by then.
