Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, has now played seven games for USC this season. However, the 19-year-old has yet to get his first career start for the Trojans.
His dad was recently asked if he felt the time had come for Bronny to be included in the starting lineup. Not only did LeBron agree to this notion, but the NBA’s all-time leading scorer went as far as saying that he firmly believes his son is capable of playing for the Lakers in the NBA right now.
LeBron James Wants Bronny on the Los Angeles Lakers Now
LeBron has made it abundantly clear that his dream is to be able to play with his son in the NBA. Bronny is currently playing in the NCAA, and he will be eligible for the NBA draft this summer, which means that the Lakers talisman will still need to wait at least a few months before his dream is potentially realized.
Well, if he had a choice, it seems that LeBron is serious about wanting Bronny on LA’s roster at the soonest possible time:
“He could play for us right now. Easy. EASY,” LeBron said, via Claire de Lune of The Guardian.
For context, LeBron reportedly made this statement after LA’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. The Lakers have been struggling mightily of late, losing eight out of their last 10 games.
LeBron has been the first to admit that his team hasn’t been able to live up to their own lofty standards of late, which is probably why he’s campaigning for Bronny’s recruitment.
Realistically, Bronny joining the Lakers won’t be happening anytime soon — perhaps not even ever. However, this hasn’t stopped LeBron from reminding everyone about his desire to be on the same team as his eldest son.
