Former Los Angeles Lakers Player Ben McLemore Arrested in Portland
According to a report by KGW8, police took McLemore into custody and booked him for the multiple cases he is facing after he was arrested at the airport on Tuesday:
“The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said McLemore was arrested Tuesday morning on an outstanding warrant out of Clackamas County and transported to the Clackamas County Jail.
“McLemore, 31, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Clackamas County Circuit Court. He faces charges of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse,” read the report
The report further indicates that McLemore’s supposed assault took place on October 3, 2021, while he was playing for the Portland Trail Blazers. An unnamed woman reportedly accused McLemore of sexually assaulting her inside a home in the posh Lake Oswego neighborhood.
The investigation was reportedly delayed after McLemore moved out of the state and started traveling outside the United States to play professionally overseas.
McLemore, who has played for the likes of the Sacramento Kings, the Houston Rockets, and the Memphis Grizzlies, suited up for the Lakers for the latter part of the 2020-21 season. He played 21 games for LA, averaging 8.0 points and 1.6 rebounds, while also knocking down 2.0 triples in 17.5 minutes per game.
