Los Angeles Lakers fans were given a proper scare on Sunday after Anthony Davis was forced to exit in the fourth quarter of their 124-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Davis tweaked his back late in the blowout win, which forced him to head to the locker room to get himself checked by the medical staff.
This unwanted turn of events suddenly cast some doubt on Davis’ availability for the Lakers’ Play-In game against the Pelicans on Tuesday night.
As it turns out, however, Davis himself is not at all worried.

Fans were tuned in to what Davis had to say after their big win over New Orleans. The 31-year-old did not leave supporters disappointed after making a sweeping declaration ahead of the Lakers’ must-win Play-In showdown in New Orleans:
“There’s no doubt I’m gonna play,” Davis said, via Lakers beat reporter Jovan Buha of The Athletic.
There you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth.
Davis knows exactly what’s at stake In Tuesday’s Play-In matchup against the Pelicans and he has now declared himself available for the contest. Lakers fans can now breathe a sigh of relief.
The winner of the Play-In showdown between the Lakers and the Pelicans will officially clinch the No. 7 seed in the West. They get to face off against the No. 2 seed and defending champs Denver Nuggets in the first round.
The loser, however, will battle either the Sacramento Kings or the Golden State Warriors for the eighth and final spot in the conference. The winner of that final Play-In game will face off against the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the opening round of the postseason.
