An understandably dejected LeBron James faced the media moments after the Los Angeles Lakers‘ season-ending loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 on Monday night. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer was not exactly in a good mood after being eliminated by Nikola Jokic and Co. for a second season in a row.
This is exactly why James decided to sidestep a loaded question about his future in LA.
Los Angeles Lakers News: LeBron James Refuses to Answer Question About Future

A reporter asked LeBron straight up if he felt that this was his final game for the Lakers. The 20-time All-Star chose not to respond, before abruptly ending the press conference.
“Uhm. I’m not gonna answer that. I appreciate it,” LeBron said.

It’s impossible to read what LeBron’s cryptic response means. There’s also so much going through his head right now after this heartbreaking loss, so perhaps he’s only right not to answer such a difficult question.
If this, however, turns out to be the last time James dawns a Lakers jersey, then it would not be the best of swansongs for one of the greatest to ever pick up a basketball.
What you can be sure of is that there are going to be a whole lot of questions surrounding LeBron’s future in the coming months.
