The Los Angeles Lakers fell back down to earth on Wednesday night following their huge win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. The Lakers just couldn’t contain the Sacramento Kings in what ultimately resulted in a 130-120 home loss for LA.
Kings star De’Aaron Fox had a lot to do with handing the Lakers their second loss in three games.
De’Aaron Fox Torches Los Angeles Lakers
Fox went absolutely mental in this one as the 6-foot-3 point guard went off for a game-high 44 points (tied for his career-high) on 19-of-32 shooting. Simply put, the Lakers just had no answer for Fox in what turned out to be another offensive explosion from the All-Star guard.
Lakers guard Austin Reaves spoke to reporters after the game and admitted that he should have done a better individual job with staying in front of Fox. The 25-year-old acknowledged that it was a “super frustrating” loss for his team:
“You should feel some type of way about how you played as an individual and what you can do to better help the team be successful,” Reaves said, via Lakers Nation.
Reaves did not have the best of games in this one. He did manage 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists, though. In the end, however, it was all for nothing.
“For me, losing is way worse than winning is good. I love to win, but losing sucks,” he said, via Lakers Nation.
Injury Scare for LeBron
To make matters worse for the Lakers, LeBron James had to exit the game late in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury:

James said after the game that he decided to head to the locker room because his ankle was bothering him a bit. He did note, however, that “I’ll be alright” as the Lakers prepare for Friday’s matchup against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
