Even though the SEC Championship match between the LSU Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks was marred by a fourth-quarter skirmish, the latter still won the game. Turns out, Angel Reese has a fiery message to the victors after her team lost to them.
Right before the game ended, certain players from both teams were involved in a scuffle. It all started when South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso pushed Flau’jae Johnson, leading both sides to start bickering with each other.

The game was then delayed for around 19 minutes. At that point, the Gamecocks were in the lead with a score of 73-66. Cardoso was then ejected before the match resumed.
By the end of the match, South Carolina got the 79-72 victory over the tigers. The Gamecocks will now move on to the NCAA Tournament after bagging the SEC Championship.
LSU Tigers Star Angel Reese Drops Fiery Message To South Carolina Gamecocks After Loss

After the game, LSU star Angel Reese spoke to reporters about the game and the skirmish that occurred in the fourth quarter. In a post by Chessa Bouche on X:
“We aren’t scared of South Carolina & I’ll say it again. I’m happy where we are at. She added if we could get another 5 minutes “e would go back out there,” Angel said.
Beside her during that time was LSU head coach Kim Mulkey, who then placed the blame on how the referees officiated the entire game.

Shortly after, Cardoso posted an apology on X for her part in the incident. Furthermore, it seems that the South Carolina Gamecocks star will miss the first game of the NCAA tournament for her part in the skirmish.
It remains to be seen whether Cardoso’s absence will be a bane or a boon for the Gamecocks when the tournament starts. What’s certain, though, is that the Tigers will be looking for payback when they meet again next season.
