The LSU Tigers have booked themselves a spot in the Sweet 16 after a massive win over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Sunday. Angel Reese led the charge with another spectacular performance, finishing with 20 points on 6-fo-17 shooting, to go along with 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in an 83-56 blowout victory in favor of the No. 3 seed Tigers.

As always, Reese had to showcase her trademark savagery during the game as she lifted her team to a pivotal second-round win in the NCAA tournament.

Middle Tennessee star center Anastasiia Boldyvera did all she could to contain Reese in this one. Unfortunately, the effort from the newly-crowned CUSA Defensive Player of the Year just wasn’t enough as Reese proved that she simply was on another level.

In fact, Boldyvera did not even make it to the fourth and final quarter after fouling out with just seconds remaining in the third frame. Reese just had to let her opponent know what was up:

You can clearly see the huge smile on Reese’s face after she knew that she had gotten the better of her MTSU counterpart. The Tigers star waved goodbye to Boldyvera as the latter made her way to the bench after accumulating her fifth foul.

The Russian center could not hold her emotions and it appears that she was in tears as she returned to the bench. Boldyvera knew that this was a brutal blow for MTSU and she just could not hide the pain.

True enough, with MTSU missing their best big in the fourth quarter, Reese and Co. would dominate the Blue Raiders in the final frame. The Tigers outscored their opponents 24-7 in the fourth to secure a huge win against No. 11 seed MTSU.

Louisiana State now awaits the winners of the bout between UCLA and Creighton to determine who they will battle in the Sweet 16.
