The Milwaukee Bucks’ championship hopes may have just taken a major blow on Tuesday night. This is after former back-to-back MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was forced to exit in the third quarter of their marquee matchup against the Boston Celtics.
Giannis suffered a non-contact injury and collapsed to the ground with what appears to be some sort of leg issue. He had to immediately head to the locker room after the play.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Giannis Antetokounmpo Leaves Celtics Game

Here is the exact play where Antetokounmpo suffered the injury. The eight-time All-Star just suddenly fell to the ground as he was jogging back to the opposite end of the floor. Giannis was clutching his left calf/leg as he lay on the court:

The fact that he sustained the knock without contact is the most concerning part of this development. It is unclear if Giannis will be able to return to the game.

As mentioned in the broadcast, the silver lining here is that Giannis was walking on his own power as he headed to the locker room. This has to be a good sign.
The Bucks are looking to put an end to their four-game losing streak with a statement win against the best team in the NBA. They have been dominant throughout this contest, and it looks like they’re going to emerge victorious.

Be that as it may, you just know that all the attention after the game will be on Antetokounmpo and his status moving forward. At this point, the Bucks just CANNOT afford to lose their best player to a major injury with the Playoffs right around the corner.
UPDATE: The Bucks have now ruled Giannis out for the remainder of the contest:
