The Minnesota Timberwolves started the second round of the playoffs on such a hot start. After sweeping the Phoenix Suns in the first round, they carried the momentum to take two straight games against the Denver Nuggets.
The team looked so good that some analysts and fans believed the series was as good as done. With Anthony Edwards playing as good as he did during the first six games of the playoffs, it was fair to think that the Wolves would make short work of the Nuggets.
However, the defending champions showcased their class as they took Minnesota’s home games for themselves. While Ant-Man denied the momentum being with Denver at that point, the Nuggets finally wrestled the series lead on their stomping grounds.
With their season now hanging at the balance, Chris Finch understands that the next game is a must-win affair for him and his men. They must pull out all the stops if they want to have a fighting chance at victory.
As the Wolves prepare for Game 6, Chris Finch makes a clear admission about their opponents’ star player.
Chris Finch thinks Jokic had an MVP-level performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5
Chris Finch was interviewed after his team’s 97-112 loss to the Nuggets. He was asked about Jokic’s performance against the Wolves and whether this has been the best they’ve seen of Jokic thus far.
Finch went straight to the point and gave the three-time MVP his flowers:
“He had an MVP best player in the world performance.”

It’s understandable why Finch would say such a thing about his opponent. Jokic had a stellar all-around performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He put up an incredible 40 points, seven rebounds, 13 assists, two steals, and a block. There was nothing Rudy Gobert could do to contain the Joker.
It will be a tough uphill climb for the Timberwolves, but they need to find something to help them force a Game 7. Whether it’s Edwards taking more shots or the defense making adjustments to contain Jokic, Finch needs to figure out how his team could contain him and win Game 6.
