The New York Knicks are currently in an excellent position to book their spot in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. This is after they defeated the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday to take a commanding 2-0 advantage in their second-round matchup.
The Knicks, however, have suffered a significant blow ahead of Game 3 in Indiana after it was revealed on Thursday that OG Anunoby will not be able to take part in Friday’s contest.
New York Knicks News: OG Anunoby Ruled Out for Game 3
The Knicks have submitted their injury report for Game 3, which confirmed that Anunoby will be officially sidelined for Friday’s contest due to a hamstring problem:

Anunoby turned in an excellent performance in Game 2 before he was forced to exit the contest. The 26-year-old logged 28 minutes of action, finishing with 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting, four rebounds, three assists, and a block.
The full extent of Anunoby’s hamstring strain is currently unknown, but it is significant enough to force him to sit out Friday’s pivotal Game 3 showdown. At this point, Knicks fans have no other choice but to hope that the one-time NBA champion swingman is able to return for Game 4 on Sunday.
The injuries just keep stacking up for the Knicks, who have already lost both Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson to season-ending injuries. They remain the favorites to emerge out of their East Semis matchup against the Pacers, but there’s no denying that this recent development on the Anunoby front will play a significant role in this series moving forward.
