Trae Young is one of the notable names to earn the ire of the New York Knicks fanbase. And after the Jalen Brunson-led squad won Game 1 against the Philadelphia 76ers, the team’s fans reminded the Atlanta Hawks’ star what they think about him.
In that particular game, New York went home with the 111-104 victory over the 76ers. Both Brunson and Josh Hart dropped 22 points, with the latter getting 13 rebounds in almost 42 minutes on the court. Miles McBride came off the bench to post 21 points on 58 percent shooting from the field, while Mitchell Robinson posted eight points and 12 rebounds as the Knicks’ backup center.
Philadelphia had a big game from Tyrese Maxey when the All-Star guard notched 33 points by connecting 53 percent of his field goals. Joel Embiid tallied 29 points and eight boards, while Kyle Lowry added 18 points, two rebounds, and four assists.
Unfortunately, Embiid injured his knee again after an off-the-backboard dunk in the second quarter. At this point in time, the All-Star center is tagged as questionable for Game 2, which could only be seen as an advantage for the Knicks.
New York Knicks Fans Cuss Out Trae Young After Getting Game 1 Win Against Philadelphia 76ers
After the game, Knicks fans can be seen amassing outside of Madison Square Garden and chanting cuss words against Hawks star Trae Young. This can be seen in a video posted by Big Knick Energy on X:
Knicks fan’s are hilarious.
We on the way to sweep the Sixers and they out here screaming “Fuck Trae Young”🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/1UDURzd1xT— Big Knick Energy (@BigKnickEnergy_) April 21, 2024
Back in 2021, Young’s Hawks faced off against a New York Knicks team in the Eastern Conference playoffs and eliminated them. Even with a 4-1 record, the All-Star point guard rubbed the loss in by bowing to the New York crowd to advance to the next round.
It looked like Knicks fans didn’t forget how Young acted in their loss back then. With New York looking strong in the postseason, the last laugh is shaping up to be in their hands.
