The Philadelphia 76ers are undefeated since Joel Embiid made his return to action following a long absence due to injury. There are still some rusts for Embiid to shake off, given his lengthy time away from the action, but it is clear that he is getting comfortable on the court again.
In the 76ers’ 109-105 road win over the Miami Heat on Thursday, the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player flexed his muscles and put up 29 points on 11/25 shooting from the field to go with four rebounds, three assists, a block, and a steal in 33 minutes of action.
With that performance against the Heat, Embiid reached a territory that no player had been to since basketball great Wilt Chamberlain, per StatMuse.

With the win over Miami, the Sixers managed to stretch their win streak to three games. They are also 2-0 since Embiid returned, having defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder at home last Tuesday to the tune of a 109-105 score. In that game, Embiid produced 24 points on 6/14 shooting from the floor with six rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes.
The 76ers are currently eighth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 42-35 record, and they still have a shot at gaining entry into the top six, though, it’s no longer entirely in their control. Nevertheless, the Sixers will look to stay hot when they play the Memphis Grizzlies on the road this Saturday.
