Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker reminded basketball fans Monday night that even though he’s running alongside two great scorers in Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, he can still go off with a nuclear offensive performance. Against the New Orleans Pelicans on the road, Booker went down to work early, scoring 37 points in just the first two periods of the contest.
Booker finished the contest with 52 points in the 124-111 victory.

Devin Booker has now scored 30+ points in 15 halves throughout his career. Since the play-by-play era started in 1996, he’s one of just eight players to do it that many times.
Devin Booker Reaches Wilt Chamberlain Territoru in Phoenix Suns’ Win vs. Pelicans
It also appears like Booker is at his best whenever he’s going up against the Pelicans, given the fact that he now has scored at least 50 points in each of the last three times he faced New Orleans.
Via Andrew Lopez of ESPN:
Devin Booker joins Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to have three consecutive 50-point games against a single opponent per @ESPNStatsInfo research. Book had 58 against Pels on 12/17/22 and 52 against them on 1/19/24. He’s got 50 with 2:00 to go in the game.
“It means a whole lot,” said Booker after the game about playing exceptionally well versus New Orleans while friends and family were watching from the stands (via ESPN). “My family was in attendance for two of them. Any time you get named for something Wilt did – it’s happened very few times in my career – you know you did something special.”
Booker will look to strike while he’s hot when the Suns host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
On the season, Booker is averaging 27.4 points per outing.
