Domantas Sabonis has been playing the best basketball of his career as part of the Sacramento Kings. And with Miami Heat forward and one-time NBA champion Kevin Love’s affirmation of his double-double record, the All-Star center is definitely at his peak right now.
Just recently, Sabonis put up an impressive stat during the Kings’ game against the Philadelphia 76ers by dropping 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Both Keegan Murray and De’Aaron Fox handled most of the offense when they tallied 23 points each.
All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey led the way for Philadelphia by posting 29 points on 62 percent shooting from the field. Meanwhile, Tobias Harris added 12 points and eight rebounds as the 76ers lost to Sacramento with a score of 108-96.
The Kings’ win placed them in a tie with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks at the sixth spot in the Western Conference. Both teams now have 42 wins and 29 losses respectively. Philadelphia, meanwhile, have slid down to the eight seed with a 39-33 record.
Kevin Love Congratulates Sacramento Kings’ Domantas Sabonis After Beating His Double-Double Record
Sabonis’ stats during the Kings’ match against Philadelphia allowed the All-Star big man to make history. He has now recorded 54 consecutive double-doubles, making it the longest streak since the ABA-NBA merger. All in all, the Sacramento star has 67 double-doubles this season.
After Sabonis’ historic feat, Miami Heat star Kevin Love congratulated him for surpassing the record he once held. The former NBA champion posted his message on X:
And counting…!!! Congrats to the new Double-Double 👑 https://t.co/GdrhDyvSTO

Throughout 71 games this season, Sabonis has been averaging 19.8 points on 60 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. He’s also leading the league in rebounding by getting 13.7 boards per game, while making 8.3 assists at the same time.
Without a doubt, Sabonis’ presence has elevated the Kings and turned them into playoff contenders in the West. Add Love’s endorsement of the big man and you’ve got a real star playing for Sacramento now.
