One can say that Candace Parker has done it all over the course of her career in the WNBA. Taking that detail into account, the three-time champion has earned the right to give a piece of powerful advice for today’s hottest stars, such as Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese.
Parker is widely regarded as one of the greatest WNBA players of all time. She was selected as the first overall pick in the 2008 draft by the Los Angeles Sparks, where she spent 13 seasons. She is a versatile player who mainly played the forward and center positions in the league.

In her early career, she had an impressive high school and college basketball record. She won the Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year award twice in high school and led the Tennessee Lady Volunteers to two consecutive national championships in college. During the recent Aspen Ideas Festival, the former Los Angeles Sparks star spoke on stage and shared her experience as a professional basketball player. In a video shared by Summer on X, Parker dropped some powerful advice for today’s female hoopers.

Clark and Reese’s first year as pros has surpassed expectations as the two rookies have generated tons of hype and interest in the league. At the same time, both ladies have the potential to create successful brands that can dominate the sport in the years to come.

It remains to be seen whether these young hoopers will take Parker’s advice for the long run. Nevertheless, they should take the former WNBA star’s words of wisdom by heart since she has already been in their position before.
