All-Star Jaylen Brown is having a good day after the Boston Celtics advance to the NBA Finals and he was named as the East Finals MVP. More than that, though, he is set to receive $369,000 as bonus for advancing to the championship round.
Last year, the Celtics found themselves losing to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. This prompted the front office to retool the roster by trading Marcus Smart and replacing him with veteran guard Jrue Holiday. Kristaps Porzingis was added to make Boston’s offense more diverse on the court.

This new iteration of the Celtics allowed them to get the NBA’s best record of 64 wins and 18 losses. At the same time, they obtained the East’s number one seed and the chance to exact revenge on the Heat in the first round. Subsequently, Boston took care of business against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers to advance to the NBA Finals.
For his part, Brown performed well over the course of 14 playoff games. During that period, the two-time All-Star forward averaged 25.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest. He also shot 54 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the arc, and 63 percent from the free throw line.

Along with the Celtics winning the East, Brown was also named MVP of the series against Indiana. Also, the Boston star is set to receive a significant bonus for reaching the Finals, as stated in a post shared by Bobby Marks on X.

Apart from Brown, Holiday is also set to receive a bonus due to Boston’s win against the Pacers in the East Finals. The veteran guard is slated to get $297,000, according to another tweet by Marks.

With Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves extending their series against the Dallas Mavericks, Boston will have more time to rest and prepare for the Finals. In any case, fans will be looking forward to Brown to see if he can finish the job for the Celtics.
