Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons made a public appearance on Monday as the former Rookie of the Year graced the 2024 Met Gala red carpet. As always, the oft-injured point guard made headlines for all the wrong reasons again as the fans criticized his wardrobe of choice for the prestigious event.
At this point, it just feels like Simmons can do no right.
Brooklyn Nets News: Ben Simmons Savagely Trolled on Twitter
More than a few fans took exception to Simmons’ attire for the Met Gala. The 27-year-old, who has been known for his flashy get-ups, came in a relatively understated black suit, which was accented by plaid patterns up top. What caught the attention of the naysayers, however, is the huge clock he decided to carry with him as his fashion accessory:

Of course, the jabs aimed at his lack of availability for the Nets also took center stage:

The savagery just doesn’t end when it comes to Simmons.
For what it’s worth, Simmons made a total of 15 appearances for the Nets this season, averaging 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. He pocketed $37.9 million in 2023-24, which amounts to roughly $2.53 million per game.
What’s even more astounding is the fact that he is set to earn $40.3 million next season. Hopefully, the Nets get some value back for their massive investment in the former No. 1 overall pick.
