Indiana Pacers superstar bounced back in a major way in Wednesday’s Game 2 clash against the New York Knicks. After scoring just six points in Monday’s Game 1 loss, the All-Star point guard was in his bag on Wednesday, going off for a game-high 34 points on 11-of-19 shooting, seven triples, six rebounds, nine assists, and three steals in 35 minutes of action.
In spite of Haliburton’s heroics, it was still the Knicks who prevailed, 130-121, as Jalen Brunson and Co. took a 2-0 series advantage.
Indiana Pacers News: Tyrese Haliburton’s Stern Warning for Knicks
After the tough loss, Haliburton acknowledged that the Pacers just weren’t good enough in Game 2. The 24-year-old, however, remains confident that his team will turn this series around now that they’re headed to Indiana for Games 3 and 4:
“We gotta be better in Game 3, and we will be better in Game 3,” he said (h/t Pacers on X). “We’re going to be back in Indy, and we love our chances there.”
As they always say, a series only starts once one of the teams secure a road win. This is exactly the mentality the Pacers will need to live by now that they’ve lost the first two games of the series in New York.
As Haliburton said, though, the Pacers remain extremely confident in their ability to bounce back at home and even out this series before they return to Madison Square Garden for Game 5.
