He’s done it. Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is now part of an extremely elite group of NBA all-time greats who have won the Most Valuable Player title for a third time.
Jokic now joins Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, and Moses Malone as the only players in the history of the game to have lifted the MVP trophy three times in their career.
Quite the company, right?
Denver Nuggets News: Nikola Jokic’s Live Reaction to MVP Win
It was NBA on TNT’s Charles Barkley, who himself won the MVP title during the 1992-93 season with the Phoenix Suns, who had the honor of announcing the winner of this season’s crown. The Nuggets posted a video of Jokic watching the announcement live, which featured an ‘excited’ reaction from the 29-year-old:

That’s exactly the type of reaction you would expect from Jokic, who let’s just say, isn’t the most excitable player out there.
The most hilarious part of the video is Jokic uttering the word “excited” in the most unenthusiastic way possible. That’s classic Joker.
Don’t let the understated reaction fool you, though. Jokic definitely understands the magnitude of this MVP win, and there’s no denying that he put his heart and soul into this season yet again.
Be that as it may, it is also true that there are bigger things on his mind right now. The Nuggets return to action on Friday to battle the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Down 0-2 in the series, another loss would virtually spell the end of the campaign for Denver and their hopes of defending their title.
You just know that Jokic is completely locked in for that one.
