Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made sure Duquesne Dukes coach Keith Dambrot, who coached him in high school, and his team are well taken care of as March Madness rolls around.
Ahead of the start of the NCAA Tournament, LeBron sent an awesome gift for the team.
LeBron James Treats Keith Dambrot, Duquesne Dukes

On Wednesday, the Duquesne X account shared a video of the players receiving sneakers courtesy of James. The Dukes players were naturally hyped as they opened their sneaker boxes and enjoyed the free kicks given to them by the Lakers star.
While LeBron couldn’t be there to deliver the gift himself, the whole team certainly appreciated the awesome gesture. Players were thankful and expressed their delight with the sneakers they have.
Sure enough, the Dukes are hoping that James’ shoes will give them that extra boost as they look to make history in the NCAA Tournament.
For what it’s worth, James reacted to the video shared by Duquesne and wished them luck in the tournament.
“Yessir!! Best of luck guys!!” James wrote.
Duquesne made it to March Madness after winning the Atlantic 10 championship. However, their journey to national title certainly won’t be easy, as they are seeded 11th and are now set to face no. 6 BYU on Thursday.
LeBron James’ Former Coach Keith Dambrot Retiring Soon

LeBron James’ gift certainly makes the 2024 NCAA Tournament extra memorable for Keith Dambrot and the Duquesne Dukes, especially since it has been reported that the coach is retiring at the end of their tournament run.
Dambrot coached James at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, with the coach-player duo winning two state high school championships in the process. Dambrot left the school in 2001 and joined the University of Akron as an assistant before becoming the school’s head coach later on.

Dambrot led Akron to three NCAA Tournament appearances, though his teams were never able to go past the second round.
With Duquesne, Dambrot is certainly hoping that he can change his fortunes this time around. Sure enough, James will be watching his head coach as he attempts to make history with the Dukes.
