It did not take long for Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green to get himself into a bit of trouble in Tuesday’s showdown against the Miami Heat.
The former Defensive Player of the Year was once again in the middle of a controversial moment in the opening quarter of Tuesday’s game. This was after Green put Heat guard Patty Mills in what appeared to be a UFC-like chokehold.
Golden State Warriors Star Draymond Green’s ‘Dirty’ Foul on Patty Mills
Green and Mills crossed paths down low as the latter attempted to set a screen against the Dubs veteran. Green, however, responded by grabbing Mills by the neck as he tried to cut loose:

You have to note that Green did this right in front of the referee, who immediately blew his whistle after seeing the play. The game officials, however, deemed this as nothing more than a common foul after reviewing the sequence.
Draymond Green Ripped Apart on Twitter
The mean streets of Twitter clearly did not agree with the referees’ decision. These folks decided to slam Green for his latest antics as they called him out for yet another supposedly “dirty” play:
Suspend him that’s dirty

Some fans argued, though, that Mills had actually locked Green’s arm up, which led to the Warriors talisman reacting the way he did. However, you can clearly see in the replay that Dryamond’s left arm was already loose by the time it made contact with Mills’ neck/chest.
Either way, Green has not been significantly penalized for his actions here. We play on.
