The concerns surrounding the Golden State Warriors have only worsened as the team enters the final stretch of the 2023-24 season. Warriors star Draymond Green put his team’s struggles in simple terms.
On Sunday, the Warriors once again lost 114-110 to the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Golden State entered the fourth quarter of the contest leading 81-78. But after losing the lead in the opening minute, the Warriors never regained it again. They kept the game close but were completely kept at bay by the Timberwolves. The result completed Minnesota’s 3-0 season sweep of Golden State.
Draymond Green Gets Real On What’s Wrong With The Golden State Warriors
What made things worse for the Warriors was that they were fresh off a home loss two nights prior versus the Indiana Pacers. Golden State led Indiana by 12 at one point but got vastly outperformed in the second half to lose 123-11 against the East side.
Before the Timberwolves matchup, the Warriors had a film session to analyze what went wrong against the Pacers. After the Timberwolves loss, Green was asked about the film session that preceded the contest.
“Yeah, it was nasty,” Green said of the Warriors’ film session on the Pacers game. “We had control of the game by one point and just gave it up and never got it back. It sucks. When you have to win, it sucks.
“In order to win, you have to build good habits. So, I don’t think we have great habits. Til we play with great, a lot of times, you lose.”

The Golden State Warriors Are In Danger Of Missing The Postseason Entirely
The Warriors have gone 4-7 over their last 11 games. They’ve yet to string together even two consecutive wins in the month of March.
Things won’t get easier as Golden State closes out the month with a four-game road trip. With only a dozen games left in the schedule, the 36-34 Warriors play eight of their remaining contests on the road.
The Warriors’ recent slide has coincided with an incredible hot streak for the 11th-placed Houston Rockets. The Rockets have won eight straight games and are 10-1 over their last 11 games. They sit just a half game back of the Dubs entering Monday’s slate of games.
Golden State has the tiebreaker over Houston given that they’ve already won two out of three matchups in their season series. But based on where the two teams are trending right now, the Warriors-Rockets April 4 face-off will likely have some serious implications on the Play-In Tournament race.
