The Golden State Warriors had to face off against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs without Stephen Curry available on Monday night. The greatest shooter of all time is still working his way back from an ankle injury, which meant that the rest of the Dubs had to step up with their best player sidelined.
Enter, Chris Paul.
Chris Paul Leads Golden State Warriors to Win Vs. Spurs
No Steph, no problem. Paul made sure that the Dubs would not lose back-to-back games against a 14-win San Antonio side. The 12-time All-Star finished with 19 points on 9-of-19 shooting, to go along with nine rebounds, eight assists, a steal, and one triple in 33 minutes of action. CP3 got the spot start in Curry’s absence, and the 18-year veteran made sure to take advantage of the opportunity.
Steve Kerr Has High Praise for Chris Paul
After the win, Dubs head coach Steve Kerr had nothing but high praise for Paul’s heroic performance. According to the four-time NBA champion coach, these are the types of games that prove why CP3 is an all-time great:
“There’s a reason he’s going to the Hall of Fame.”

Paul is definitely heading to the Hall of Fame not long after he retires. It’s now a matter of whether or not he will enter the Hall as a former NBA champion or not. He has a great shot of claiming that elusive title this season, but the Warriors will need to shape up soon if they want to keep their championship dreams alive.
