With the Golden State Warriors struggling to make the playoffs this year, every win in the regular season is a crucial one for the team. But after a loss to the New York Knicks recently, Stephen Curry dropped a harsh reality check for the Dubs to consider.
In that game, the Knicks took the 119-112 win over Golden State right in their home court at the Chase Center. Jalen Brunson continued to prove his worth as an All-Star by dropping 34 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Miles McBride provided 29 points on 69 percent shooting from the field to help New York go home with the victory.
The Warriors, on the other hand, were led by Stephen Curry’s 27 points on 40 percent shooting from the field and 30 percent from deep. Trayce Jackson-Davis had a solid game from the bench by adding 19 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.
New York’s win helped them keep the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Dubs have dropped to the 10th seed in the West after this loss to the Knicks.
Golden State Warriors Star Stephen Curry Dropped a Harsh Reality Check After Loss To New York Knicks
After the game, Curry spoke to reporters and dropped a harsh take on how the Warriors played against New York. The All-Star guard said Golden State needs to be more consistent, which can be seen in a video posted by Warriors on NBC on X:
“Honestly, who cares what seed you are if you play like we did tonight … You’re not going to get very far.”

While the Warriors’ offense is ranked 11th among 30 teams, their 17th place defense isn’t doing the team any favors. And for a franchise that prides itself in having the league’s all-time leading scorer from deep, they’re only hitting 35 percent from outside the arc.
If Golden State wants to go far in the playoffs, they have to follow Curry’s lead and be more consistent on both ends of the floor. Nevertheless, the Warriors star did his part in warning the team after their loss to the Knicks.
