Houston Rockets fans will be holding their collective breath as they await news on the injury of rising star Alperen Sengun. The 21-year-old suffered a nasty-looking leg injury late in Sunday’s 112-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings, and it did not look good at all.
Sengun could not walk on his own and he had to be taken out of the game in a wheelchair in a truly concerning scene for Houston supporters everywhere.

The incident happened with less than a minute remaining in Sunday’s contest. Kings star Domantas Sabonis drove hard to the basket after forcing a steal. Sengun did all he could to contest the shot, which ended tragically for the Rockets big man:

You can clearly see Sengun screaming in pain the moment he hit the deck. It seems that he suffered some sort of leg/knee injury after landing awkwardly.
The 6-foot-11 center had his hands on his face in disappointment as he exited the game in a wheelchair:
Sengun was unable to return to the game, finishing with 14 points on 7-of-14 shooting, to go along with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 29 minutes of action.
The Rockets should provide an update on Sengun once he undergoes tests, but at the onset, it looks like this will force the Turkish national to miss some time. How long that will be, if any, remains to be seen as Houston looks to secure their spot in the Play-In tournament out West.
UPDATE: Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Sengun is not set to undergo MRI tests on Monday:
