Skip Bayless Can’t Stop Hating on LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers After Collapse vs. Sacramento Kings

Just recently, the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Sacramento Kings right at their own home. This led Skip Bayless to criticize LeBron James and his team about their subpar performance against the De’Aaron Fox-led squad.

In that particular game, the Lakers lost to Sacramento with a score of 130-120. Fox led the way for his team by dropping 44 points on 59 percent shooting from the field, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. He was backed up by a tremendous game from Domantas Sabonis, who had 16 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Over on the Lakers’ side of things, James posted 31 points on 62 percent shooting from the field, five rebounds, and 13 assists. Rui Hachimura added 29 points, two rebounds, and two steals in 32 minutes on the court.

That loss dropped the Lakers’ record to 34-29, or ninth in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Kings are in seventh place with 34 wins and 26 losses.

After the game, Skip Bayless went on X and posted several tweets criticizing James and the Lakers.

“The Kings treat the Lakers like they’re the Pistons,” Bayless wrote.

“Austin Reaves did a sensational job defending DFox in the first quarter. Then DFox said, “That’s enough.” The Kings have beaten the Lakers 6 of the last 7 because DFox has averaged 30 in those 7,” he added.

“The refs are doing their part for the home-team Lakers, who have shot 21 free throws to the Kings’ 6. But the Lakers trail by 15 because they decided the game was over after a quarter and quit trying on defense,” Bayless posted.

“I just watched an amazing development. The Lakers were up 19 on the Kings late first quarter. Now, at half, the Lakers trail 72-59. THEY GAVE UP A 54-20 RUN AT HOME. The Kings are the King’s daddy,” he said.

Even though James just scored 40,000 points, the first player to do so, his team’s performance against the Kings does warrant some criticism. While they took the lead during the first quarter, they fell behind most of the game and slacked on defense, leading Sacramento to get the win.

With the playoffs looming close, every win is crucial to James and the Lakers. The coming weeks will see whether the King’s team can bounce back to secure a higher seed or not.
