For the second year in a row, the Indiana Fever will be selecting No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft. They will be on the clock Monday night when the 2024 WNBA Draft starts at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York. Of course, there’s just one name most basketball fans associate with this year’s top overall pick held by the Fever and it’s no other than Caitlin Clark.
Caitlin Clark Heavily Expected to Get Selected No. 1 Overall by the Indiana Fever

Clark is coming off a sensational four-year stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes in the collegiate ranks. Arguably the greatest female college player to ever play, Clark finished her senior year with the Hawkeyes in the 2023-24 college basketball season with averages of 31.6 points, 8.9 assists, and 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from behind the arc.
May view Clark as a franchise-altering prospect in the WNBA, and the Indiana Fever have a chance to be that team that she helps turn its fortunes around. All the Fever need to do to get that opportunity was mention the name of Clark on draft day.
“Everything changes tomorrow,” the official X account of the Indiana Fever posted Sunday evening in anticipation of the 2024 WNBA Draft.

If the Fever end up taking Clark first overall, they would be pairing her with last year’s No. 1 pick, Aliyah Boston, thus giving Indiana a formidable 1-2 punch of two Naismith College Player of the Year winners.
