The topic of Bronny James‘ future in basketball has been a big talking point of late following the departure of Andy Enfield as head coach of the USC Trojans. Speculations have gained traction on social media about where the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James will play next even though he is still, at the moment, remains a member of the Trojans.
Following the Lakers’ 128-111 road win against the Toronto Raptors Tuesday night, the four-time league Most Valuable Player opened up about the “tough decisions” Bronny has in front of him.
Via Alex Andrejev of The Athletic:
“At the end of the day, Bronny’s his own man,” LeBron said Tuesday, after the Lakers’ win over the Raptors in Toronto, when asked about Bronny and the transfer portal.
“He has some tough decisions to make, and when he’s ready to make those decisions, he’ll let us all know. But as his family, we’re going to support whatever he does.”
It’s hard to imagine LeBron James, who loves having control of the situation, not having any sort of influence on how Bronny will tackle his future plans, but one has just to take the Los Angeles Lakers veteran’s word. At the end of the day, LeBron wants the best for Bronny.
In Bronny’s freshman season with the Trojans, he averaged just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists across 25 games, while shooting only 36.6 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from behind the arc.
LeBron James Shines in Los Angeles Lakers’ Win vs. the Raptors
As for LeBron James and the Lakers, they easily crushed the Raptors, thanks in large part to LA’s offense clicking from start to finish. The Lakers shot 51.5 percent from the field, with LeBron scattering 23 points on 10/12 shooting from the floor in 29 minutes of action.
