The Los Angeles Lakers were already without LeBron James on Sunday night as they took on the Minnesota Timberwolves. They then lost Anthony Davis in the first half with an eye injury that forced him to sit out the remainder of the game.
Without their two superstars available, the Lakers proved no match to Minnesota, and it resulted in the Wolves securing a crucial 127-117 victory.
Los Angeles Lakers News: Anthony Davis Expected to Play Tuesday Vs. Warriors
The good news for the Lakers is that Davis’ injury does not appear to be serious. ESPN’s NBA insider Dave McMenamin revealed after the game that Davis is expected to return to the lineup for LA’s next game, which comes in the form of a marquee matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night:
There is optimism that Anthony Davis will be able to return to the lineup on Tuesday against GSW, a source familiar with the situation told ESPN.

Head coach Darvin Ham did not have any updates after the loss about Davis’ injury. However, the fact that there is optimism surrounding the nine-time All-Star’s availability against the Warriors bodes well for LA.
The Lakers fell to 45-34 after Sunday’s defeat, but they still hold a 1.5-game advantage over the Warriors for the ninth seed in the West. Moreover, LA is still fighting for a guaranteed playoff spot as they sit just 1.5 games behind the sixth-placed Phoenix Suns.
There are three games remaining on the docket for the Lakers, and they have a big one coming up on Tuesday against Stephen Curry and Co. We fully expect both LeBron and AD to be available for that one.
