Los Angeles Lakers news: Just recently, there was some talk about Gabe Vincent not returning to action for the remainder of the season. There was some suspicion that the 27-year-old was not progressing significantly with his rehab after undergoing surgery to address a serious knee injury earlier in the season, and that he would not be able to return in 2023-24.
Well, as it turns out, all those rumors were untrue.
Los Angeles Lakers Get Gabe Vincent Back for Nets Showdown
Over the past several weeks, there has been a lot of talk surrounding Vincent’s health. The Lakers were adamant that he was closing in on his return, which was a notion that was met by some skepticism given how the 6-foot-3 point guard’s knee took much longer to heal than initially expected.
Vincent, however, was upgraded to questionable to play ahead of Sunday’s contest, which was a massive step in the right direction for the former Miami Heat stud. The big news is that Vincent has now been cleared to play and will be available against the Nets.
This report comes via Lakers team reporter Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet:
LeBron, AD and Gabe Vincent have all been upgraded to available for tonight’s game at Brooklyn on @SpectrumSN.
Same starters for the Lakers.

Vincent last saw action for the Lakers on December 20, which was just his fifth game played for the squad since joining them as a free agent in the offseason. Given his lengthy injury hiatus, the former UC Santa Barbara standout should be in some sort of minutes limit on Sunday as LA gently brings him back into the fold.
Either way, Vincent’s return is a significant development for the Lakers as they continue to fight for positioning in the West in their final few games of the regular season.
