Rudy Gobert turned in another impressive 12-point, 14-rebound double-double on Tuesday night as the Minnesota Timberwolves secured a 113-106 victory over the Houston Rockets to officially clinch a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
One man who is not impressed by Gobert, though, is Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce.
Paul Pierce Calls Out Minnesota Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert
The Truth did not hold back in sharing his truth about Gobert and the latter’s supposed facade. According to Pierce, the Wolves big man is not the type who strikes fear in the heart of his opponents:
“Nobody considers European players tough, especially from France,” Pierce said (h/t NBACentral on Twitter).
That’s savage.
Needless to say, Pierce is not a fan of Gobert — or at least the three-time Defensive Player of the Year’s so-called fake toughness.
Pierce is a call-it-like-it-is type of dude and he’s never the type to keep his opinions to himself. He’s decided to take aim at Gobert with his recent tirade here, which might just prompt a response from the Minnesota big man. We’ll have to keep an eye on this situation.
Gobert has been integral for the Wolves this season. He’s averaging 13.8 points on 65.7 percent shooting, to go along with 12.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. The 31-year-old has been this squad’s defensive anchor, and there’s no denying that he will be a key cog for Minnesota and their championship aspirations this season.
