The NC State Wolfpack are through to the Final Four of the ongoing NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament after they defeated the Duke Blue Devils 76-64 on Sunday.
This marks the first time since their 1983 title run that they’ve made it this far. And because their women’s team is also on an epic tournament run, their fans couldn’t be more proud of their basketball program.
One of them is Janny Wolfe, Jayden Taylor’s elementary teacher, who recently re-affirmed her support to her former student via her X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Hey Jayden! Mrs. Wolfe here! I am so proud of you! I remember the pics you drew in 3rd grade of yourself playing bball. you said you were going to be a pro bball player!” wrote Wolfe.
“You are well on your way, my friend! Now go win that nat’l championship. I’ll be cheering you on!” she concluded.
Jayden Taylor quote-tweeted Mrs. Wolfe’s tweet with teary-eyed emojis, which shows how much her support means to him. This should motivate Taylor to do his best when the NC State Wolfpack takes on the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday.
Jayden Taylor calls NC State Wolfpack’s Final Four trip “destiny”
After the win over the Duke Blue Devils, Jayden Taylor said that making it to the Final Four was meant to be for him and the NC State Wolfpack, and he firmly believes that they can go all the way.
“This was meant to be, for sure,” said Taylor. “I think this is how the story was already written. This is how God planned it.”
“We’ve faced nine elimination games. We hoopin’. Ain’t nothing to be scared of, but we know what we came here for. We’re not stopping until we’re the national champions,” he added.
Jayden Taylor has been integral for the NC State Wolfpack this season, averaging 11.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 41.2 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from beyond the arc.
But while DJ Burns has been making the headlines recently, the biggest threat from the NC State Wolfpack is DJ Horne. The 6’2″ guard out of North Carolina averages 16.8 points per game to lead the team in scoring this year.
