Thursday night’s marquee matchup between the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors at Madison Square Garden had no shortage of action. Once again, Stephen Curry came out with an incredible performance to lead his team to victory against the home team, 110-99.
Jalen Brunson did all he could to carry his side to a win, but in the end, the Knicks star just didn’t have enough to lift his team against the Warriors.
Jalen Brunson Rejects Chris Paul’s Attempt to Help Him Up
One of the most contentious moments of the game came late in the third quarter when Brunson hit the deck after colliding with Warriors veteran Chris Paul. CP3 then attempted to extend a helping hand to assist Brunson on his way up, which the Knicks guard savagely rejected:

You can clearly see Paul walking away from the play with his hands up as if to say he did all he could but that Brunson just didn’t want any of his help.
New York Knicks Star Jalen Brunson Clears the Air
Brunson spoke with Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report on Friday, and naturally, they had to talk about the elephant in the room. The Knicks guard got brutally honest as he revealed what he told Paul when he refused his help:
“Well, first, I’ve got the utmost respect for Chris,” Brunson said. “… But during the game, I mean, if I get knocked down, I prefer my teammates to help me up no matter what the situation is. He came to pick me up, I was like, ‘I can’t right now.’ That’s all I said.”

As Brunson said, there’s nothing but love between himself and CP. However, all that is thrown out the window once the game starts. I’m pretty sure Paul wouldn’t have it any other way.
