RJ Davis and Caleb Love, who used to be teammates with the North Carolina Tar Heels, saw their odds of sharing the floor before the 2024 NCAA Tournament ends get reduced to zero after their respective teams lost Thursday in the Sweet 16 round. Davis and the Tar Heels got eliminated by the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide, while Love and the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats got knocked out by the No. 6 Clemson Tigers.
What hurts more for Davis and Love is the fact that they both mightily struggled offensively in the Sweet 16 round.

Tonight in Los Angeles:
Caleb Love: 0-9 from 3, 5-18 from field
RJ Davis: 0-9 from 3, 4-20 from fieldIt’s the first time any 2 players have shot 0-9 or worse from 3 on the same day in NCAA Tournament history.
Arizona Wildcats Fall To Clemson
The Wildcats entered the Sweet 16 round full of hope considering how well they played in the previous two games and the fact that they were the higher seed against Clemson. However, the offensive struggles of the Wildcats resulted in a 77-72 setback at the hands of the Tigers.
Love, who played his first three college basketball seasons with the North Carolina Tar Heels before transferring to Tucson, only had 13 points on 18 attempts from the field. He also committed three turnovers.
Alabama Shows North Carolina Tar Heels the Exit
As for North Carolina, the Tar Heels reached the end of the road after running into a very determined Alabama side, who executed better in the clutch than Davis and company to score an 89-87 victory. Davis finished with 16 points but was, as mentioned above, incredibly atrocious from the field. For what it’s worth, at least Davis was able to get plenty of chances from the foul line where he went 8/9.
