A two-time NBA champion could find his way to the City of Brotherly Love in the summer. The Philadelphia 76ers are among the teams to watch out for in the coming offseason, as they look to make some improvements with the hopes that they will finally get over the hump in the playoffs while Joel Embiid is still in his prime.
One name that has been linked to the 76ers amid the brewing NBA free agency rumors is Denver Nuggets shooter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who could be a free agent soon.

Pope has a player option for the 2024-25 NBA season to decide on that is also worth $15.4 million. Given his proven championship experience and ability to consistently drain 3-pointers, he’s someone who can be viewed as capable of helping elevate the 76ers offense.

The Sixers, sources said, took note of Indiana’s two-year splurge for Bruce Brown that then became the biggest salary headed back to Toronto in exchange for Siakam. Veteran wings like Klay Thompson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope would fall on the Sixers’ list of targets for similar one-plus-one contracts, sources said.
In the 2023-24 NBA season, Pope, who won NBA rings with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Nuggets, averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while also making over 40 percent of his attempts from behind the arc. Pope is a career 36.9 percent shooter from deep, but has made 41.5 percent of his threes in the last two seasons.
