The Philadelphia 76ers suffered a tough 108-107 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, which saw Kelly Oubre Jr. getting blocked by Paul George during his drive to the basket in the dying seconds of the contest.
Oubre felt that George should’ve been called for a foul, which the referees eventually admitted, so the Philadelphia 76ers forward confronted the referees by cussing at them in a video that went viral on social media, calling each one of them the ‘B’ word.

On Thursday, former Philadelphia 76ers guard Lou Williams shared his thoughts about the incident at FanDuel’s Run it Back podcast with Michelle Beadle and Chandler Parsons, saying that he won’t be surprised if Kelly Oubre Jr. would be fined up to $75,000 for his expletive-laced rant.
“Kelly Oubre doesn’t have a history of this type of character, right? If this is Draymond Green, the world blows up,” said Williams. “I thought that over there was gonna be 50. Now watching this, this might be 75. This is $25k per b—h, without a doubt.”

Lou Williams has a point that Kelly Oubre Jr. doesn’t have a reputation for this type of behavior. But while it’s hard to blame the Philadelphia 76ers swingman for his actions due to the heat of the moment, Oubre will certainly a hefty penalty from the league office.

Kelly Oubre Jr. was not the only Philadelphia 76ers member who lost his cool, as Nick Nurse was actually the first to confront the referees for the late controversial no-call.
But even so, after things cooled down, Kelly Oubre Jr. issued an apology for his outburst and said that he was ready to accept any punishment from the NBA.

“I want to apologize for just losing my cool because that’s something I try to work on each and every day, and try to represent God in the best way I possibly can, and that wasn’t it,” said Oubre. “I just ask for forgiveness. It wasn’t cool, so I’ll take whatever penalties come with that.”
As of this writing, the league office has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
