There is a major point of contention among Philadelphia 76ers fans when their team narrowly lost to the Los Angeles Clippers, 108-107. It was a tough game that saw the Sixers pushing the Clippers without having Joel Embiid on the team.
However, the final moments of the game ended in controversy as Kelly Oubre got into a heated moment with a referee. The incident was an embarrassing spectacle for all parties, and the guard has since come forward to explain why he made such actions during the game.
Kelly Oubre explains his sudden outburst during the Philadelphia 76ers’ loss

The incident that caused the commotion happened during the game’s final play. Oubre drove to the basket and managed to draw contact. However, he wasn’t given a call that would have allowed him to at least take the game through free throws.
The frustration he got over the non-call was understandable, which caused him to get verbal with the referees, even calling him an expletive in the process.
It doesn’t give him a great look, but he explained that his rant happened due to a moment of passion. Basketball Forever wrote about his take on the incident:
“First and foremost, heat of the moment,” Oubre said. “This is an intense basketball game, of course. And we’re not perfect. The refs aren’t perfect. I want to apologize for just losing my cool, because that’s something I try to work on each and every day, and try to represent God in the best way I possibly can, and that wasn’t it. So I just ask for forgiveness.
“But I saw Coach Nurse getting riled up and if our coach is going to fight for us and he’s going there, then I’m right behind him. But at the end of the day, it wasn’t cool. So I’ll take whatever penalties come with that and you have to move on, but I got to be better in a sense.”

It’s good to see NBA players are aware that sometimes they let emotions get the better of them in games and are striving to better themselves.
