The Toronto Raptors are sinking lower and lower each. They are still stuck in the mud following yet another loss on Wednesday night, falling prey to the Sacramento Kings at home, 123-89. That’s the Raptors’ eighth loss in a row and 46th in the 2023-24 NBA season.
After showing some life when they won three consecutive games late last February, the Raptors have fallen off a cliff, winning just once in 11 games since. That lone victory in that brutal stretch was against fellow lottery-bound franchise, Charlotte Hornets. In other words, it is not a good time to be a Raptors fan. Making it even worse are facts like the one brought up by Sportsnet Stats after getting crushed by the Kings:
Raptors have been outscored 1,198 – 1056 in their last 10 games. Their -142 point differential is their lowest over a 10-game span since March 1998
The Toronto Raptors Are On A Free Fall
The horrid stretch the Raptors have going for them is just another lowlight for the franchise this season. Toronto has struggled on the floor for the most part of the 2023-24 NBA campaign.
It is in the bottom third in the league this season in both adjusted offensive rating and adjusted defensive rating. Their adjusted net rating is at -4.4 – 24th in the league.
Reaching the NBA Playoffs is just a pipe dream at this point of the season for the 23-46 Raptors, though, they can still pull off a miracle if they suddenly start winning in bunches and leapfrog the Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets. They can still dream, right?
The Raptors will look to end their slump this Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder at home.
