The Milwaukee Bucks were supposed to be one of the most dangerous teams in the NBA when the 2023-24 season began. With Giannis Antetokounmpo finally getting a legitimate second star in Damian Lillard, the team was supposed to cause plenty of problems for any team they faced.
However, basketball is more than just putting superstars together and expecting them to win games. They lost seven of their final ten games, which spells trouble for Bucks fans who were expecting their team to make a deep playoff run.
To make matters worse, their opponents in the first round is one of the teams they especially struggled against
Timothy Legler believes the Indiana Pacers can cause postseason trouble for the Milwaukee Bucks
Timothy Legler made an appearance on Get Up and talked about the NBA playoffs. While there’s still time before the first round gets underway, the Bucks will be looking for ways they can counter the Pacers who have seemingly gotten the formula to beating them.
Legler stated in his guesting that even if Giannis was ready to play at full strength, they would still likely buckle against the Indiana Pacers.

Ernesto Cova of The Cold Wire agreed with his take, even saying that there couldn’t be any better matchup due to the drama surrounding the two teams:
The Pacers couldn’t have asked for a better matchup, and there’s some animosity between these teams dating back to Giannis’ altercation with Tyrese Haliburton and all the fiasco surrounding the ball from his 60-point game.
Also, with Doc Rivers’ well-documented struggles in the postseason, a veteran and savvy tactician like Rick Carlisle should have a giant edge on the sidelines.
The Indiana Pacers have the Milwaukee Bucks’ number in the regular season
The biggest indicator of how the two teams fare against each other is through their regular-season confrontations. Since they are division rivals, they faced each other five times this season. The Bucks only won one of those games.
If it’s any consolation, the Bucks only lost those four games by no more than two points. The two teams are very well-matched when it comes to personnel, and it would be up to the coaches to tip the situation in their squad’s favor.
