The Boston Celtics kept it going on Monday night with a routine 118-104 road victory against the Charlotte Hornets. At this point, Jayson Tatum and Co. are just one win away from their 60th victory of the season.
According to Tatum, however, the Celtics are just getting started as they start turning their attention to what they are expecting will be another extended playoff run this season.
Jayson Tatum Adamant Boston Celtics Are Peaking at Right Time
Tatum finished Monday’s W with 25 points on 9-of-19 shooting, 10 rebounds, and four assists. After the game, the five-time All-Star was asked if he feel the Celtics are reaching their prime form at just the right time. Tatum responded affirmatively:
“Absolutely, just trying to stay healthy,” Tatum said, via ClutchPoints on Twitter. “Use these last couple of games as somethings that we can work on and different situations we might be in to use come playoff time.”
The Celtics have just seven games remaining in the regular season, which starts with an intriguing matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the No. 1 seed in the West at the moment, on Wednesday night.
As Tatum said, it’s crucial for the Celtics to get as many wins as they can in their last remaining games, but what’s even more important is that they are able to use this stretch to fine-tune their game ahead of the postseason.
If Boston is able to maintain this elite level of play, this could finally be their year.
