Even though Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t been active due to injury, the Boston Celtics still managed to reach the NBA Finals. But just recently, the Latvian big man gave an update that indicated his return to the court is imminent.
After playing for the Washington Wizards last year, Porzingis found himself being acquired by the Celtics during the offseason. Couple along with veteran guard Jrue Holiday, their addition to the team opened up how they play offense and added a new dimension to it.

This change was certainly seen during Boston’s regular season campaign and how they attained the league’s best record. At the same time, they earned the number one seed in the Eastern Conference and the right to face a Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat team in the first round.
At that point, Porzingis suffered a strained soleus during their first round showdown against the Heat. From then on, the one-time All-Star missed the team’s series against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round and the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Nevertheless, Boston dominated those teams on their way to the NBA Finals.

Just recently, Porzingis gave Boston fans and update on whether he can join Jayson Tatum and company in the Finals. He does so on his official X account in a post translated from Latvian.
“Thank you to everyone who supports and sympathizes throughout the season. I’ll be back in line soon. See you in the finals ☘️ and then in the arena with your own 🇱🇻🙌,” Porzingis tweeted.
Over the course of the season, the former New York Knicks star averaged 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 blocks. He also shot 51 percent from the field, 37 percent from deep, and 85 percent from the free throw line.

Needless to say, the Celtics could use Porzingis production back in the lineup. Hopefully, he can stay healthy for a seven game series against either Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks or Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves to help his team win the big one.
