For April 6, 2024, we examine the best bet to make in an interesting game between two of the best teams in the NBA.

Boston Celtics vs Sacramento Kings Best Bet

    7:30 PM EST
    Boston, MA

The Boston Celtics are the best team in the league right now. They have 60 wins already. But as good as they are, breathing down their neck is the second-best team in the league—the Timberwolves, with 53 wins.

The Celtics will definitely be the first seed this season, and they are now just looking to improve their record. Having nothing to lose, they can play without any pressure. Boston is on a 3-game winning streak. They also won 12 out of their last 14 games.

In their last game, the Celtics won against the Oklahoma City Thunder 135-100, as we predicted. The Thunder were without their best players, MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. However, the Celtics showed why they have such a winning record.  With Porzingis in the team, they stretched the floor this season. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had more open shots which they hit against the Thunder. The Celtics shot 43% from the 3pt-line. Field goal percentage was also great, leading to a strong performance.

The W also gave them a guaranteed home-court advantage, which they will surely put to good use in the Eastern half of the 2023-24 NBA playoffs.

On the other side of the court, the Sacramento Kings are playing in back-to-back games. They lost last night against the Knicks after they were up by 21. They played great in the first two quarters, however, they played a terrible 3rd and 4th quarter and lost 120-109 in the end. This was a very important game for them to keep them at the 6th seed.

Currently at the 8th seed, the Lakers are only 0.5 games behind them, making a potential slip to the 9th seed possible in a very short time. The Kings have lost 3 out of their last 5 games. They were one of the hottest teams in the league earlier this season. Right now, things are not looking good for them. The absence of Malik Monk slowed them down. This is a must-win game for them if they want to avoid the play-in tournament.

    Injury report

The Celtics are without Jaden Springer tonight. Derrick White and Jaylen Brown are both questionable for tonight. We believe that Jaylen Brown will play tonight, however we aren’t quite as optimistic about Derrick White.

The Kings are still without Malik Monk. He is expected to miss four to six weeks due to a sprained right MCL. If the Kings make a playoff run, he might return later in the postseason, which will be crucial for Sac-Town. Kevin Huerter is also out tonight.

Prediction and Best Bet to Make

When looking at the best bet on the night, the Celtics are just too good in many areas. They are convincingly the best team in the league. Not only that, they are particularly strong at home, making this a bleak outlook for Sacramento. The Kings suffered a pretty rough loss against the New York Knicks last night. The players did not have any time to rest, and we believe that they will feel that tonight.

The Celtics won 5-straight games against the Kings, each game being a blowout. In the last game they played in December, the Celtics won 144-119 in Sacramento. They even blew them out without Jayson Tatum. That being said, the Celtics winning with a handicap is a value best bet that could pay off.
