Brooklyn Nets: Shaq Fires Brutal $80,000,000 Diss at Ben Simmons

Brooklyn Nets news: Shaquille O’Neal isn’t exactly the biggest Ben Simmons fan out there. The Hall of Fame big man has called out the oft-injured Nets point guard multiple times in the past, and it was just a matter of time before O’Neal delivered his next jab.

Well, that moment came during a recent episode of Shaq’s podcast. The savagery just keeps on chugging on.

Shaq’s co-host Adam Lefkoe asked the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man which player in the NBA would want him to pay good money just to see. O’Neal saw this as an opportunity to throw Simmons under the bus yet again, and so that’s exactly what he did:

“Ben Simmons, because I’d wanna learn how you can make $80 million and play 55 games. Teach me,” Shaq said.

For what it’s worth, Simmons has played just 57 games for the Nets since joining the squad more than two years ago. He suffered another season-ending injury in 2023-24, this time coming in the form of a back problem that required another surgical procedure.

Simmons is set to pocket $40.3 million next season on top of the $37.9 million he has earned this year.

Shaq may have been a bit too harsh with his criticism of the former No. 1 overall pick, but at this point, you can’t really say that they’re completely unwarranted.
