Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese crossed paths again Monday night during the Elite Eight round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, as the Iowa Hawkeyes and the LSU Tigers took on each other for the first time since the national championship game in 2023.
This time around, though, it’s Clark and her Hawkeyes who prevailed, as they dethroned Reese and the Tigers in a 94-87 win.
There is so much history between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, but when it was all said and done on the court, both competitors showed class at each other.
A lot of respect between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Fierce competitors. They’ve made the game better. pic.twitter.com/zpgYGytzMk

While the moment between Clark and Reese lasted just seconds, it clearly showed that all is well as far as their relationship goes. They both let it all out on the court and had their game do the talking. It’s just unfortunate that only one of Iowa and LSU could advance to the Final Four round.
Caitlin Clark Lived Up To The Hype
All eyes were on Clark even before the game against LSU started. The Hawkeyes will always go as far as where Clark takes them, and she definitely delivered for her team with a scintillating performance against Reese and the then-defending champions. Clark finished the contest with 41 points and 12 assists. She consistently hit her shots from way downtown, connecting on nine of 20 attempts from behind the arc. Clark also added two steals and a block in 40 minutes.
Reese, meanwhile, was not too shabby with her production against Iowa, as she put up a double-double of 17 points and 20 rebounds in 36 minutes.
With the win over LSU, Clark and the Hawkeyes will now prepare for the Final Four showdown aginst the No. 3 UConn Huskies on Friday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
