Whatever it was that DeMar DeRozan had before taking on the Indiana Pacers Wednesday night on the road, the Chicago Bulls surely would want him to continue having it because he was simply unstoppable against the Eastern Conference rival.
DeRozan was especially lethal in the clutch versus the Pacers, whom he torched for nine points in the fourth quarter and nine more in overtime to tow the Bulls to a 132-129 victory. DeRozan buried multiple daggers in the contest. He had a tough fadeaway jumper on the baseline to force overtime then sank a 3-pointer with over two minutes remaining in overtime to get the Bulls ahead by four points.
Chicago Bulls Star DeMar DeRozan Is Money In The Clutch
It seemed like DeRozan got better as the pressure became more intense.
There is no one better in the clutch among the Bulls this season in the clutch, and he’s got this to prove it (via OptaSTATS):
NBA players with 400+ points in the 4th quarter & 50+ points in OT in a season, last 25 years:
Kobe Bryant, Lakers (2006-07)
DeMar DeRozan, @chicagobulls (this season)
After the dust settled in the wild Bulls-Pacers showdown, DeRozan emerged with an unreal production of 46 points on 15/24 shooting from, the field. Although he shot just 1/6 from deep, the one triple he drained was the aforementioned dagger in overtime. He also had Pacers defenders looking ineffective all game long, as he went to the foul line 17 times and made 15 free throws.
