Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was on the receiving end of a dangerous fall during her match against the Connecticut Sun. After the game, the former NCAA champion came out and assured her fans that there’s nothing to be worried about.
Even before she first played in the WNBA, Reese has been making waves as a standout forward playing for the LSU Tigers. In her third year of college, she led her team to winning the NCAA championship with averages of 23.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. However, Reese wasn’t able to replicate that feat after she was eliminated by Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

After her final season in LSU, Reese was selected by the Chicago Sky using the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Along with South Carolina Kamilla Cardoso, the pair of rookies would form the team’s backbone for their future in the league.
Reese would go on to show her worth on the court in Chicago’s recent 86-82 loss to the Connecticut Sun. In that game, the rookie notched 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists. She also endured a nasty fall after Alyssa Thomas held her by the neck after going for a rebound. As a result, the Sun forward was called for a flagrant foul and ejected from the game.

After the match, Reese said she had no ill feelings towards Thomas after she endured a nasty fall at her hands. The Chicago Sky rookie took things further on social media by saying she’s okay.
“EVERYONE, i’m good! its just basketball. we gon shake back! #skytown,” Reese tweeted.
Over the course of four games, Reese is averaging 12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. However, the rookie is having an inefficient time on the court by hitting only 35 percent of her field goals and 63 percent from the free throw line.

With that kind of competitive spirit inside her, it’s no surprise Reese is making waves in the WNBA right now. Add a battle for the Rookie of the Year award with Indiana Fever Caitlin Clark and the hype for this league is just going to get better.
