Even after playing more than 10 games in the WNBA, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has remained the constant target of her opponents on the court. But after a heated moment during a match against the Chicago Sky, fourth-year guard Chennedy Carter dropped a harsh criticism on the former Iowa Hawkeyes star.
Clark first made waves in women’s college basketball when she broke Pete Maravich’s old record to become the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. Even though she failed to capture a single championship with Iowa during her four-year run there, the guard was still selected first by the Fever during the recent WNBA Draft.

Before playing her first game as a pro, Clark signed several lucrative endorsement deals while rejecting a big one from Ice Cube’s BIG 3 League. Indiana’s decision to provide her with chartered flights influenced the WNBA to give the same benefit to all the players, making her impact known right before the new season started.
Unfortunately, Clark and the Fever haven’t seen much success in the past few weeks. Over the course of 11 games, Indiana has only won two of them. This has led critics and certain WNBA players to blast Clark for not being able to translate her popularity to victories.
Chicago Sky Guard Chennedy Carter Blasts Indiana Fever Rookie Caitlin Clark After Heated Moment

Just recently, the Fever faced the Chicago Sky at the former’s home court. While the ball was being inbounded to Clark, Carter shoulder-checked her and was only called a common foul for her action. After the game, she shared her thoughts about the rookie in a post shared by Yahoo Sports on X.

Throughout the span of 11 games, Clark has averaged 15.6 points on almost 30 percent from deep, 5.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest. Meanwhile, Carter is tallying 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists for Chicago this season.

It remains to be seen whether the Fever can turn it all around and get some wins down the line. In any case, the focus on Clark and the hate she has been getting from opposing squads aren’t expected to end anytime soon.
