After the Sacramento Kings eliminated the Golden State Warriors, the latter’s front office will have to make hard decisions in the offseason. Chris Paul, in particular, may be traded and there’s one Western Conference team looking to acquire the Point God for next season.
During the offseason, Paul made his way to Golden State from the Phoenix Suns via a trade with the Washington Wizards. His acquisition came at the price of Jordan Poole, a player once groomed to take over the team in the near future.
Even though Paul’s addition to the Dubs’ lineup caused some tension due to concerns about coming off the bench, the All-Star point guard took a backseat and played as a reserve. In the 58 games he played, 18 of which as a starter for the Warriors, Paul averaged 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest.
Unfortunately, the Dubs didn’t get to finish the regular season with a higher seed, causing them to lose to the Sacramento Kings in a Play-In Tournament game. Along with injuries and a regression to their key players, GSW’s run this season has come to an end.
Los Angeles Clippers Named as Favorites To Get Chris Paul from Golden State Warriors
Once the Warriors lost to the Kings, ending their season effectively, talk about where some of their guys will end up in the league have surfaced, particularly Paul. According to BetOnline via a tweet by ZubacSZN on X, the Los Angeles Clippers have the best odds to land the Point God.

It should be remembered Paul spent a better part of his prime playing for the Clippers from 2011 to 2017. During that period, the Warriors point guard averaged 18.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
At this point in time, Paul still has around $30 million left in his contract. For sure, the Dubs will find a way to get the most value out of the point guard to keep Stephen Curry’s title window open.
